Odell Beckham Jr. is a vastly talented wide receiver, but he has an injury past. Over the past couple of seasons, Beckham tore his ACL twice. He tore it in 2021 with the Browns and it happened again in the Super Bowl.
He is unlikely to be ready to play by the start of the season. That is when Yahoo Sports’ Charles Robinson believes Beckham will sign with a team – after the season begins.
During his appearance on the You Pod To Win The Game podcast, Robinson named five suitors for the receiver.
Los Angeles Rams
He mentioned the Rams during the podcast. The Rams reiterated multiple times this offseason that they want Beckham back. However, the team brought in Allen Robinson this offseason. It is unknown if Robinson will replace Beckham or if he was a phenomenal piece to add to the offense. Odds are the answer is the latter, but the jury is still out.
Dallas Cowboys
Robinson discussed the Dallas Cowboys too. They are relying on CeeDee Lamb to deliver most of the passing offense due to Michael Gallup’s torn ACL late last season. If the Cowboys need help with pass-catching, bringing in OBJ makes total sense to form a three-headed monster for Dak Prescott.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Another team discussed during the podcast was the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Buccaneers paid Russell Gage to fill in where Antonio Brown ran off last season. If the team landed Beckham, it would be a case of the rich getting richer.
New Orleans Saints
Robinson brought up New Orleans as a destination for the wide receiver. The Saints gave Jarvis Landry a contract this offseason; they were former teammates. In Cleveland, the receivers deemed the Browns a dream team. Things fell apart, but the duo were professional teammates and played well together. That is not the only time the men played together. They both went to college at LSU and were teammates from 2011-2013. A reunion near their alma mater could work for them.
Green Bay Packers
Finally, Robinson chattered about the Green Bay Packers during the podcast. The Packers uprooted its receiver room this offseason. What better way to finalize it than adding a new superstar to replace Davante Adams? The team traded up to draft Christian Watson in the second round, but he could take a while to acclimate. It is worth mentioning that Beckham was between the Rams and Packers last year before he decided on Los Angeles.
Wherever Beckham lands, it seems like NFL fans will wait until the season kicks off to see him on a field again.
