The Washington Commanders have been rolling throughout the season as they are currently leading the NFC East with a 5-2 record. Things are looking up for the team as they continue to march into the second half of the regular season but they will be without one member of their 53-man roster for at least the next six games.
The NFL announced that they are suspending Washington Commanders cornerback Kevon Seymour for six games without pay for violating the NFL’s Performance-Enhancing Substances Policy. Seymour has not been on the field much as he has recorded just one solo tackle and has appeared in only two games.
The 30-year-old cornerback was selected in the sixth round of the 2016 NFL draft by the Buffalo Bills and has played for five teams in his seven seasons, including this being the first with the Washington Commanders. He is eligible to be reinstated after Week 13’s game against the Tennessee Titans.
Will the Washington Commanders win the NFC East this season?
The Washington Commanders have been an exciting team that currently holds a one-game lead in the NFC East with a 1-0 divisional record, as all three teams have defeated the New York Giants once. Even with the ribs injury that rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels suffered in last week’s game against the Carolina Panthers, they should be in the driver’s seat going forward.
This offense has done extremely well as they are tied for the best offense in the league with 31.1 points per game. They are surviving the injuries and have a decent defense, 15th in the sport with 21.7 points per game allowed.
According to DraftKings Sportsbook, the Washington Commanders have the second-best odds to win the NFC East. Below are the current odds for the divisional winner.
- Philadelphia Eagles (+110)
- Washington Commanders (+135)
- Dallas Cowboys (+450)
- New York Giants (+10000)
The Eagles coaching issue causes a bit of concern and with the Washington Commanders playing well, they should be the odds-on favorite to hold onto the lead and win the home playoff game.
