The Washington Commanders added depth to their defensive line position by signing Haggai Chisom Ndubuisi of Nigeria. Ndubuisi is part of the International Player Pathway Program (IPPP).
Ndubuisi (6-7, 323 pounds) is a 23-year-old Nigerian lineman who played soccer and basketball growing up. He started watching football/NFL on YouTube and then joined the Uprise Academy, a Nigerian football program founded by former NFL defensive lineman Osi Umenyiora.

Haggai Chisom Ndubuisi entered the NFL in April of 2022 and was allocated to the Arizona Cardinals as an Offensive Lineman. After appearing in only one preseason game he was released and was then allocated to the Denver Broncos where he made the switch to defensive lineman.
Ndubuisi was on the practice squad for the Broncos for the 2023 season but was not signed to a reserve/future contract. On February 1st, Ndubuisi signed with the San Antonio Brahmas of the United Football League (UFL), but was waived on February 12th. He now lands with the Commanders.
