Wake Forest is coming off a season to forget in 2023. They finished at the bottom of the ACC with a 1-7 conference record and 4-8 overall. Now, they will have to go into 2024 without one of their best offensive weapons. Wide receiver Jahmal Banks has entered the transfer portal.

Wake Forest WR Jahmal Banks Enters Transfer Portal
Banks has put together back-to-back solid seasons. In 2022, he had 42 catches for 636 yards and nine scores and followed it up with 59 passes for 653 yards and four touchdowns. All of those were at least tied for the team lead. Many thought his production would dip this year after Sam Hartman transferred to Notre Dame but Banks was able to still put up solid numbers. He should be a great target for a program to get in the portal.
Looking Ahead To 2024
The 2024 season will be interesting for all of college football. Conference realignment has led to a lot of new matchups for 2024. The Demon Deacons will play California next season as well as Ole Miss in non-conference play. It is unclear exactly how many of the ACC teams will perform next year as a lot of them are in a state of flux. Duke has a new coach and Clemson is trying to figure out how to get back to dominating the conference. If the program can get some quality players on the field, they might surprise some people next season.
Can Wake Forest bounce back next season? They went 11-3 and 8-5 the two previous years and are looking to get back to their winning ways.
