The Tulane Green Wave are 2-0, starting this season off with 2 blow out victories. Tulane’s defense put up a shut out on Saturday night, for the first time since 1997. Which allowed the offense to dominate!

Tulane Green Wave: Passing Game
This week quarter back Michael Pratt put on an absolute show! He was in command of the offense on every drive and led this team like a true pro.
Only throwing 4 incompletions; 17/21 with 318 yards and 3 touchdowns. The Green Wave put up over 550 total yards Saturday, 398 of them through the air.

Defensive Powerhouse
On Saturday night the Green Wave held Alcorn State to 109 yards, total! 49 passing, 60 rushing, only allowing 2.4 yards per play.
As far as moving the chains goes, Alcorn State only got 4 first downs all game, compared to Tulane’s 31.

Concerns Moving Forward
As amazing this game was to watch this defense and offense play at such a high level. My two concerns are, as we move into high competition levels, having more balance on offense and the defense continuing to play sound defense.
Not being able too, or choosing not to run the football against a team like Alcorn State shows where this offense’s head is at.
Throwing the ball that much could at some point in the season hurt them, if they get into a shoot-out and can not run the ball for a first down. 3rd and longs are going to pile up, which will put strains on the defense.
