The Jacksonville Jaguars have been one of the top teams in the AFC this season but quarterback Trevor Lawrence went down with a knee injury in their Week 6 game against the Indianapolis Colts. While scrambling to avoid a tackle, Colts defensive end Samson Ebukam tackled Lawrence’s leg and injured the quarterback’s knee on the play.

With the game already decided and being later in the fourth quarter, it is unlikely that quarterback Trevor Lawrence is going to return to the game. That is going to be something that we are going to need to look at as the week goes on as he went to the locker room with the Jaguars not taking any chances.
With this happening towards the end of the game, the Jaguars did not need to have a backup quarterback come in to replace him in the 37-20 divisional victory. If the knee injury forces Lawrence ot miss time, C.J. Beathard will be under center.
Can the Jacksonville Jaguars survive an injury to Trevor Lawrence?
Not many teams can survive a sustained injury to their quarterback but the Jacksonville Jaguars can survive in the playoff race if Trevor Lawrence misses time. With this Week 6 win, they have sole possession of the AFC South after sweeping the season series against the Indianapolis Colts.
The only thing they would need to do is keep the Houston Texans at bay but Houston has won the first matchup between these teams. One positive in terms of the injury is that Trevor Lawrence did still the postgame interview with the television broadcast.
This team has a lot of talent on the offensive side of the field but the defense has been playing very well. Jacksonville is currently leaning on their defense as they are giving up 20.4 points per game, which ranks 12th in football. This team is built to play with the offense driving down the field and scoring points in bunches but that is yet to happen this season.
Trevor Lawrence has been underperforming throughout the season as his 55.0 QBR is 15th in the NFL and he has a 5:2 touchdown-to-interception ratio through the first six weeks of the regular season. With their next game being on Thursday Night Football on the road against the New Orleans Saints, it will be interesting to see his availabilty going forward. C.J. Beathard will have to figure out how to get a rhythm going if the injury forces Lawrence to miss any time.
