Jaguars Doug Pederson On Trevor Lawrence: “Sky’s The Limit With This Guy”

The Jacksonville Jaguars have to be happy that Doug Pederson is the one coaching Trevor Lawrence. A year after the Urban Meyer fiasco, Pederson came in and led the Jaguars to a playoff victory. The team is now thinking big. It all hinges on the development of Lawrence and Pederson is very excited about what he is seeing in this year’s training camp.

    Doug Pederson On Trevor Lawrence

Pederson talked to SiriusXM NFL Radio and raved about the third-year quarterback.

“I’ll tell you what, he’s throwing the ball the best I’ve seen him in the year and a half I’ve been with Trevor. And just really, the sky is the limit with this guy. And if we just continue to improve and just really keep those pieces around him healthy, this offense could really take off.”

“He’s mature above his years. And I’ll tell you this, what he went through his rookie season, to really come out of that last year and shine — he doesn’t get too high or too low, he stays even-keeled. His emotions are that way.”

It’s easy to see why fans have high hopes with quotes like this coming out of training camp.

    High-Powered Offense

The addition of Calvin Ridley feels like a free-agent signing that the team didn’t have to pay for. Christian Kirk and Evan Engram are back. Travis Etienne is showing progress in camp as well. Behind Lawrence, this could be a top offense in the league. They also have to advantage of playing in the easiest division in the AFC by far. Getting to play the rebuilding Texans and Colts twice a year is great.

The Jaguars are an interesting team this year. While everyone is hyping up the Chiefs (for good reason), Bengals, Jets, and Bills, Doug Pederson and Trevor Lawrence quietly have this team in a place to make some noise.
