The Jacksonville Jaguars have been one of the top teams in the National Football League but quarterback Trevor Lawrence suffered a major leg injury in the fourth quarter of their Week 13 game against the Cincinnati Bengals. While trying to avoid a sack with less than six minutes remaining in the fourth quarter, Trevor Lawrence got hit and his leg seemed to be stepped on.
He attempted to get up, fell back down and was helped off the field and headed straight to the locker room.
Trevor Lawrence tried to get up, fell back down, and the entire stadium gasped.
He's headed to the locker room with help. This sucks.pic.twitter.com/kX3GnJlZna https://t.co/UYVJV6ewNO

There have been many quarterback injuries throughout the season and the Jacksonville Jaguars have listed Trevor Lawrence as questionable with an ankle injury. We have seen star quarterbacks such as Aaron Rodgers, Deshaun Watson, Joe Burrow, Anthony Richardson and Daniel Jones all go down with season-ending injuries.
Trevor Lawrence played well in this game against a weak Bengals defense as he has gone 22-of-29 for 258 yards with two touchdown passes as well as five carries for eight yards (1.6 yards per attempt) with a rushing touchdown. How far can this Jacksonville Jaguars team go without Trevor Lawrence?
If Trevor Lawrence is going to miss time or even the season based on the nature of the ankle injury, this Jacksonville Jaguars team is going to be in an interesting spot. Their backup quarterback is C.J. Beathard but do not count out the Jags with a backup quarterback if Lawrence is out for a significant amount of time as we have seen coach Doug Pederson do this before.
The Jaguars have a pretty tough remaining schedule as below is the remaining regular season schedule for the team:
- Week 14: at Cleveland Browns
- Week 15: vs Baltimore Ravens
- Week 16: at Tampa Bay Buccaneers
- Week 17: vs Carolina Panthers
- Week 18: at Tennessee Titans
The Jaguars are not locked into winning the AFC South as it is. If they lose to the Cincinnati Bengals tonight, they would be only one game ahead of both the Houston Texans and Indianapolis Colts in the division. We will all be waiting to see an official report for Lawrence’s injury as they should be able to make the playoffs either way but things become a lot more murky for their chances in Duval if he is hampered with an injury.
