As is due, now that we are firmly in NFL Playoff season, the controversial takes will start – or really, continue, to fly.
Who Is Amy Trask?
A perhaps unusual suspect is former Oakland (now Las Vegas) Raiders CEO Amy Trask, colloquially referred to as the ‘Princess of Darkness’ by the Las Vegas faithful. As someone who had was not previously acquainted with this Princess, it seems like Trask was an influential player in the executive branch of Al Davis’ organization.
After resigning in 2013, Trask has remained on the periphery of the NFL bubble, and now it seems she is laying out her cards – or opinions – for the the world – or internet – to see.
Which Quarterback Does The Former Raiders CEO Not Believe Is Up To Scratch?
It seems like whilst Trask is very fond of 7 of the QBs remaining in the playoffs, she thinks that one of them does not cut the mustard, and, strangely, it probably isn’t the one you think. Per MLFootball.
DAMN… #49ers QB Brock Purdy is the WORST quarterback remaining, says former #Raiders executive Amy Trask
“There’s four games. Eight Quarterbacks. Seven terrific quarterbacks and Brock Purdy.”

Amy Trask Does Not Believe In Brock Purdy
Brock Purdy has quickly gone from rookie 7th round sensation in 2022, to a sceptic’s dream earlier in this year, to a potential MVP candidate prior to the San Francisco 49ers drubbing by the Baltimore Ravens. One who, incidentally, lead the entire NFL in Pro Bowl voting.
However, despite posting some phenomenal passing statistic in his first 1.5 seasons, including a career passer rating of 111.4, 44 touchdowns and 15 picks. Pretty good for Mr. Irrelevant.
Yet, Trask does not believe that Purdy is a bad quarterback, she just maintains he is not in the same echelon as the other 7, stating:
Brock Purdy is a good quarterback, make no mistake about it…I’m not suggesting Brock isn’t a good quarterback – he is. I simply don’t put him in the same category as the other quarterbacks.
So I’ll say it again, eight quarterbacks, seven terrific quarterbacks, and Brock Purdy.
Whilst some may fathom that this is a strange signal caller to single out, especially in a group containing journeyman veteran, Baker Mayfield and first year starter, Jordan Love.
Trask clarifies the reasoning behind the stance further:
It’s not that I don’t like him, it’s not that I dislike him, he does things very well. He is surrounded by a tremendous, tremendous supporting cast, both on offense and defense. He is a good quarterback, I don’t put him in the category of the other seven.
Undoubtedly many people, 49er fans and Purdy doubters alike, will have a lot to say about this. Let’s see what Purdy does in his 4th playoff start, where he faces the Green Bay Packers, fresh off a big upset win against the Dallas Cowboys. The 49ers are 9.5 point favorites.
