The Tua Tagovailoa injury is something that has been discussed a lot since he was taken out late in the third quarter with a concussion. With people talking about the potential of Tua Tagovailoa retiring after suffering his third concussion in 24 months, the potential options have been multiplying on social media.
One of the more interesting quarterbacks to be talked about is seven-time Super Bowl champion Tom Brady. Of course, the Miami Dolphins were docked draft capital for the owner trying to get him to join the team a few years ago. Now with the potential of Tua Tagovailoa’s injury keeping the Dolphins out of a playoff race, could we see the newest FOX announcer replace his microphone for a helmet and shoulder pads?
No, Tom Brady is not returning to quarterback the Miami Dolphins
Tom Brady would have to go through a lot of hurdles in order to get on the football field and join the Miami Dolphins. One is the most obvious and that is Tom Brady is retired and would want to return to action. The second is that he would be joining a divisional rival of the New England Patriots, a team that retired his jersey just three months ago.
Then of course, we have the entire fact that Tom Brady is now a minority owner of the Las Vegas Raiders. Being a minority owner of an NFL team is not going to allow him to take the field as that would be obviously a conflict of interest if Brady suits up for the Miami Dolphins.
While it is wishful thinking and a lot of jersey swaps, the only Florida team that Tom Brady will suit up for is the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He is retired from playing in the National Football League and the Dolphins are going to need to address the quarterback situation by looking in a different direction.
