TJ Watt suffered a concussion in the Pittsburgh Steelers’ loss at the 3-10 New England Patriots on Thursday night.
Now, coming off of a min-bye ahead of Saturday’s game at the Indianapolis Colts, the Steelers are in for some good news, per Ian Rapoport.
#Steelers star edge T.J. Watt has been cleared by an independent neurological consultant, and he is out of the NFL’s concussion protocol, per @SteelersPRBurt.

What Does TJ Watt Mean For The Pittsburgh Steelers Offense?
He is not only their leading man, and primary sack artist, currently second in the league behind only Khalil Mack with 14 sacks on the year – but best defensive player.
He is the only player on the field who genuinely changes the outcome of multiple games per year not lined up over the center. All time, the Steelers are 66-32-2 with TJ Watt, and 1-10 without him. That is a very stark difference. per Stat Muse.
And this statistic is not just circumstantial, just taking into account last year where Watt missed time, the team was 8-2 with Watt and 1-6 without him – a seemingly borderline impossible difference for a non QB to make.
So, after two dismal losses hosting the Arizona Cardinals and the New England Patriots, having Watt in time for this crucial, playoff-implications battle with the Colts on Saturday. The Steelers are 2.5 point underdogs.
