The Titans are set to kick off the 2025 NFL Draft with the No. 1 overall pick. The night before the draft is about to take place, they added a veteran wide receiver to their roster. They will add Tyler Lockett to their receiving corps on a one-year deal for $4 million (with incentives pushing it up to $6 million). This is huge.

Tyler Lockett’s Experience
Lockett, who has spent a decade in Seattle, brings a lot of experience with an offense that is in transition. Lockett has 8,594 career receiving yards, 61 touchdowns, and a track record as one of the highest and most consistent and professional route runners in the league, and could immediately bring leadership and reliability.
In 2024, Tyler Lockett’s production began to fall—49 catches for 600 yards and two touchdowns—following a more reliance on DK Metcalf and Jaxon Smith-Njigba. Now that Metcalf has been traded to Pittsburgh and Lockett has been let go, the two longtime Seahawks are starting over in new uniforms.

This is a crucial time for Tennessee as they are expected to choose Miami quarterback Cam Ward with the first selection of the draft. Surrounding a young QB with capable weapons is crucial, and pairing Tyler Lockett with Calvin Ridley, Treylon Burks, and Van Jefferson gives Tennessee a balanced mix of youth and experience in the WR room.

Tyler Lockett went to social media to share his excitement: ‘I’m excited to be a ‘Tennessee Titan!!’ I’m super thankful and grateful. Let’s get it!! God you get all the glory!!”
While the Titans could still take a receiver in the draft, signing Lockett gives them flexibility with that No. 1 pick—and a proven wideout for whoever ends up under center this season.
66 players will be on that roster, and eight incoming draft picks, GM Mike Borgonzi, and assistant GM Chad Brinker will have to get strategic come August with final roster cuts. But the Titans have made a big step in the right direction toward building a more stable, veteran-oriented offense.
