Former USC Trojans running back Reggie Bush was one of the most electrifying players the sport has ever seen. He helped USC win two national titles in 2003 and in 2004, before losing in the national title game in 2005 against the Texas Longhorns and Vince Young.

Bush was one of the best running backs in college football history. Because of this, this led him to being the second overall pick in the 2006 NFL Draft by the New Orleans Saints. Bush was coached by Pete Carroll in college. The former Trojans running back also had a very good NFL career. Where does the former USC running back rank in the Top 25 college football players over the last 25 years?
USC Trojans Running Back Reggie Bush Ranked As Second Best College Football Player Over the Last 25 Years

Bruce Feldman of The Athletic listed players in the college football landscape over the last 25 years who were the Top 25 players in the sport. It was not a surprise that Bush was ranked on this list. However, he was ranked as the second-best player in the sport over the last 25 years. Quarterback Cam Newton of the Auburn Tigers was ranked number one. Feldman said about the former Trojans running back being ranked second,
“Arguably the most electrifying player in college football history, Bush helped the Trojans win national titles in his first two seasons and then won the Heisman in his third. In 2005, he averaged 223 all-purpose yards per game, including a memorable Saturday night when he went for 513 against Fresno State. His knack for game-changing plays was uncanny.
“He single-handedly won us some games,” said Orgeron, a former USC assistant.
When I asked experts for their take on the best player of the 2000s, Bush’s name came up by far the most.
“The only perfect grade I ever gave to a college player was Reggie,” Daniel Jeremiah said. “He was a jaw-dropping college player. He was so much better than everybody else on the field, it wasn’t even close. You went out of your way to watch him. He was literally must-see TV.””
Bush made an impact right away as a freshman for the Trojans. He also won a Heisman Trophy with USC during the 2005 season. His numbers during the three years of his collegiate career were very good.
Career: 433 rushes, 3,169 yards, 25 TDs; 95 catches, 13,01 yards, 13 TDs; 4 return TDs
Best season: 2005; 200 rushes, 1,740 yards, 16 TDs; 37 catches, 478 yards, 2 TDs; 1 return TD
Bush was only one of two running backs who was ranked on the Top 25 college football players list over the last 25 years. The only other one was Christian McCaffrey of the Stanford Cardinal, who was ranked 17th. Lastly, the former USC running back was probably the greatest Trojans football player who ever played for them.
