Former Florida Gators quarterback Tim Tebow was one of the most inspirational quarterbacks over the last 25 years in college football. Tebow was an absolute force to be reckoned with at the college level.

Urban Meyer was his head coach at the college football level. He helped the Gators win two national titles. Tebow played for Florida from 2006 to 2009. He was the 25th overall pick (first-round selection) in the 2010 NFL Draft by the Denver Broncos. Tebow was also in the Heisman Trophy race several times in his college football career. He won it in 2007. Where does the Gators star quarterback rank amongst the greatest college football players over the last 25 years?
Florida Gators Quarterback Tim Tebow Only Ranked 8th In Top 25 College Football Players List Over Last 25 Years

Tebow was not ranked in the top five of this list. He was ranked at number eight. This number feels low for the former Gators quarterback. Feldman said,
“The H-back-sized quarterback was a force, bulldozing his way upfield as a runner while also spreading the field to take advantage of the Gators’ speed and weapons. Tebow helped Florida win the 2006 national title as a change-up runner behind Chris Leak. The next year, it was his show. UF went 9-4, but he won the Heisman by accounting for 55 total touchdowns.
In 2008, he led Florida to another national title, throwing 16 touchdowns and no picks over the final six games. He was the face and leader of a talented but volatile locker room. It made for an interesting mix, but they won a ton of games and he put up eye-popping stats. The 6-3, 235-pound lefty had one of the most prolific careers in college football history, going to New York as a Heisman finalist three times.”
The Gators were successful at the college football level because of Tebow. They have not won a national title since he left the program. Florida is looking to get back to national prominence at the football level.
Many years later, college football fans never forgot what Tebow delivered to this football program. Many fans will remember the fiery speeches he used to give in the locker room, especially the one where he said, “30 minutes for the rest of our lives.”
He may have had the best leadership out of any college quarterback as well over the last 25 years. What is surprising about Tebow being only ranked eighth is that he is only one of a few players to ever have been a Heisman Trophy finalist three times.
On this list, Vince Young of the Texas Longhorns, Joe Burrow of the LSU Tigers, Lamar Jackson of the Louisville Cardinals, and Cam Newton of the Auburn Tigers were ranked ahead of the Gators star quarterback. Well, this was some of his numbers during his college career with Florida:
Career: 9,285 yards, 66.4%, 88 TDs, 16 INTs, 170.8 rating; 692 rushes, 2,947 yards, 57 TDs
Best season: 2007; 3,286 yards, 66.9%, 32 TDs, 6 INTs, 172.5 rating; 210 rushes, 895 yards, 23 TDs
Tebow was a dual-threat quarterback. He was very strong. Tebow did not have a long NFL career, but his college career is what made him the star he is today, and the former Gators quarterback is covering college football as an analyst.
