Texas Longhorns quarterback Quinn Ewers decided to run it back with the program for the 2024 season. Now, he’s the favorite to win college football’s highest individual honor, the Heisman Trophy.
However, winning it won’t be easy, as he is facing some serious competition from another returning quarterback in Georgia Bulldogs star Carson Beck.
Texas Longhorns’ Quinn Ewers Leads Heisman Favorites Along With Carson Beck
According to the latest odds, Ewers and Beck are both at +700 to win the honor, per Circa Sports. Three other quarterbacks round out the Top 5, with Jaxson Dart (Ole Miss Rebels), Nico Iamaleava (Tennessee Volunteers) and Garrett Nussmeier (LUS Tigers) all at +1200.
It’s definitely not surprising to see both Ewers and Beck lead the Heisman candidates pack, though. After all, both are well experienced and have proven that they can consistently compete at the highest level.
In 2023, Ewers tallied 3479 passing yards and 22 touchdowns against just six interceptions. He completed 69.0 percent of his passes, helping establish Texas as one of the best teams in the nation.
As for Beck, he recorded 3941 passing yards for 26 touchdowns and just six interceptions. He completed 72.4 percent of his passes as Georgia ended the year with a 13-1 record.

Furthermore, it’s worth noting that Quinn Ewers propelled the Texas Longhorns to the College Football Playoffs, albeit losing to the Washington Huskies in the Sugar Bowl.
Meanwhile, Beck is a two-time national champion with the Georgia Bulldogs. There were high hopes that they could defend their back-to-back titles, but a loss to Alabama in the SEC title game derailed those hopes, with the Crimson Tide eventually being selected to make it to the CFP.
With plenty of experience under their belt, Ewers and Beck are definitely in great position to win the Heisman.
It remains to be seen which other players will step up through the year, but for now, Ewers and Beck are the players to beat for it.
