Carson Beck was expected to return to Georgia for another season, but nothing was set in stone.
In his first season as the Bulldogs’ starter, Beck completed 72.4% of his throws for over 3,700 passing yards, 22 touchdowns, and just six interceptions. That production helped the program to finish with another undefeated regular season before falling to Alabama in the SEC Championship.
It has also been enough, although paired with some inexperience, to put him in conversations regarding the NFL Draft, as On3 noted. However, with a lighter class of quarterbacks next season, Rowe thinks Beck might be wiser to be patient and cash in come the draft in 2025.
“It feels like him or Quinn Ewers. It feels like those two will enter the 2024 season (at the top), provided that Ewers does as has been indicated or said and comes back,” said Rowe. “I think that those two will probably be at the top of the heap…I think Shedeur Sanders is probably going to be in that mix as well.”
“Those three? If you can get yourself solidified in that top-three deal? You’ve got a chance to be a Top-15 pick,” Rowe continued. “If you’re a Top-15 pick, you’re going to get an opportunity to start in the NFL and you’re going to make life-changing money just with that first contract.
Carson Beck Returning To UGA in 2024
On Monday, the Georgia QB made his decision official.
“My friends and family have helped put me in a situation to have options for my future. However, the NFL can wait one more year. I am returning to UGA for my senior season.
We need everyone's support in Miami to close this season out the right way!”–@carsonbeck01 #GoDawgs pic.twitter.com/O3Mm7OXmZg

“My friends and family have helped put me in a situation to have options for my future. However, the NFL can wait one more year. I am returning to UGA for my senior season. We need everyone’s support in Miami to close this season out the right way.”
This feels like a smart move for Carson Beck. He can come back to a roster loaded with talent, compete for another national title and join a NFL Draft class that will need top-tier QBs in 2025.
