The Tennessee Titans’ offensive line struggled last season, allowing the 4th-most sacks in the league with 64.
One position in particular that struggled tremendously was the left tackle position. Tennessee signed an inexperienced offensive lineman last offseason, hoping he would replace Taylor Lewan.
The plan backfired.
The Tennessee Titans swung and missed with their free-agent acquisition.
The Titans signed Andre Dillard to a 3-year, $29 million contract. Dillard spent his first four seasons with the Eagles and didn’t play much, appearing in 43 out of 66 regular season games and starting nine.
Dillard struggled last season. He appeared in 16 games but started ten because he got benched in Week 6 and suffered a concussion in Week 10, which caused him to miss Week 11.
When he returned in Week 12, he lost the starting job to Jaelyn Duncan, but he returned to the lineup in Week 16 and started the last two games. He had five penalties, 12 sacks allowed, and a 51.0 PFF Grade. He was released in March.
Since the team is weak at left tackle, they will likely address the position with their 7th pick. Tennessee will meet with a top prospect on Monday.
The Tennessee Titans will meet with a top tackle prospect.
According to Adam Schefter, the Titans will meet with JC Latham on Monday.
Latham spent three seasons with the Alabama Crimson Tide.
JC Latham had a successful career at Alabama.
Latham committed to the Crimson Tide as a five-star recruit for the 2021 season.
Latham was the backup in his freshman season, playing in 14 games, allowing two hits, two hurries, and zero sacks with a 75.0 PFF Grade in 142 offensive snaps (135 at RG and five at RT).
Latham won the starting RT job in his sophomore season, playing in 13 games, allowing one hit, 11 hurries, and zero sacks with a 75.7 PFF Grade in 875 offensive snaps.
Latham stayed at RT in his junior season, playing in 14 games, allowing three hits, nine hurries, and two sacks with an 81.9 PFF Grade in 874 offensive snaps.
JC Latham wants to switch positions in the NFL.
Latham believes that it would be beneficial for him to play left tackle in the NFL.
“Obviously it’s a question mark, I’m a right tackle,” Latham said. “So, you know, usually tackles taken extremely high are left tackles. I feel I can break that kind of narrative, and also it would help me showcase my ability to play left [tackle]. I have the ability to be dominant regardless.”
Where does JC Latham rank among tackles?
He ranks as the third-best tackle behind Joe Alt and Olu Fashanu in the 2024 draft, per NFL Draft Buzz.
