The Tennessee Titans signed Saahdiq Charles to a contract in March. Charles played the first four seasons of his career in D.C., playing 35 games with 18 starts. He played 11 games, started ten at LG in 2023, and represented 643 offensive snaps.
Charles competed for the starting right guard position during the spring and the first few weeks of training camp. He took the early lead in camp, and they listed him as the starter in their first unofficial depth chart. However, he will no longer compete.

Saahdiq Charles retired on Tuesday. According to head coach Brian Callahan, Charles retired due to personal reasons and didn’t want to play football anymore. The Titans placed him on the reserve/retired list.
Now that he is no longer in the fold for the starting job, the Titans will have a competition without him. Their draft pick from 2021 is now the favorite.
The Tennessee Titans’ former second-round pick is the favorite to start

Dillon Radunz is the favorite to replace Saahdiq Charles in the starting rotation. After losing competitions for starting jobs and battling injuries in his first two seasons, including an ACL tear in December of 2022, Radunz saw an expanded role in 2023, playing at four different positions (LT, LG, RG, and RT). He played well last season, with 36 pressures, 26 hurries, five hits, five sacks allowed, and a 67.2 PFF grade in 16 games and 11 starts.
Radunz surpassed Charles in the depth chart and will receive the majority of first-team reps with the first-team offense moving forward. It’s his job to lose. He’ll compete against their starter from last season.
The Tennessee Titans’ versatile offensive lineman looks to regain his starting spot

Daniel Brunskill looks to regain his starting spot. Brunskill had a decent campaign last season, with 26 pressures, 19 hurries, five hits, two sacks allowed, and a 67.1 PFF grade in 14 games and 14 starts.
Brunskill served as the backup center behind Lloyd Cushenberry III throughout practice. He will receive reps at right guard and is in the mix for the starting job.
Who will replace Charles?
