A promising young rookie for the Houston Texans’ offense was carted off the field Sunday during their game against the Denver Broncos. The Texans were leading 13-0 in the second quarter of a game that could have playoff implicit for both 6-5 teams.
The Texans have been impressive in C.J. Strouds’ first year. Much of his success has been with third-round pick Tank Dell, who came into Sunday’s game with over 700 yards receiving and seven touchdowns. He caught five touchdowns in the Texans’ previous four games.
Dell could be out for a while.

It’s unclear how severe Dell’s injury is. His absence will be huge for the Texans. Dell is the Texans second-leading receiver this season.
(Update: Dell is headed to the injured reserve with a fractured fibula, per Rapoport)
