The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have a critical game in Week 18 against the Carolina Panthers. Throughout the 2023 NFL regular season, they have been led by veteran QB Baker Mayfield. However, he had rib injury concerns earlier this week. Now, Baker has a fortunate update for Buccaneers fans.
Baker Mayfield Practices Friday
Rick Stroud, who is a reporter for the Tampa Bay Times, shared a video on his Twitter account of Mayfield practicing on Friday. Stroud also commented that Mayfield by no means looked limited during that practice. The video is an encouraging sign that he is going to play on Sunday against the Panthers.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers Moving Forward
For the Buccaneers organization and their fans, this is a huge update. It means that they are likely going to have their starting quarterback when it matters most. If Tampa Bay wins this game, they will clinch the NFC South. Given their record, they will likely have to win this game to have any shot at the playoffs.
This has arguably been Mayfield’s best season in his career. Just how good has he been? Mayfield has 3,907 passing yards and 28 touchdown passes. Best of all, he only has 10 interceptions. Now, he looks to keep this up against the Panthers.
