To say that Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield had himself a game against the Green Bay Packers on Sunday would be an understatement.
In fact, this was without a doubt one of the most outstanding quarterback performances we’ve seen in quite a while. Not even Bucs great Tom Brady achieved Mayfield’s incredible feat against the Packers.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Baker Mayfield Sets Epic Mark
Mayfield led the charge for the Buccaneers on Sunday, en route to a 34-20 win in Lambeau Field. The 28-year-old threw 22-of-28 completed passes for 381 yards, four touchdowns, and zero interceptions in a truly stellar performance.
Thanks to his heroic outing, Mayfield garnered a 158.3 passer rating against the Packers, which incidentally, is the maximum rating a quarterback can get (h/t Michael David Smith of PFT).
To make it even more impressive, no other opposing quarterback has netted a perfect passer rating in Lambeau Field since it opened its doors in 1957. Well, Mayfield just shattered that 66-year record on Sunday.
For what it’s worth, the only other quarterback who achieved a similar maximum rating in Lambeau Field was the great Aaron Rodgers during his time with the Packers.
Not even the GOAT himself, Tom Brady, ever got a perfect passer rating through all his on-field battles against Rodergs in Lambeau Field.
This feat does not necessarily put Mayfield in GOAT territory with the likes of Brady and Rodgers but it’s an undeniably impressive achievement nonetheless.
Mayfield will now want to keep his foot on the gas when the now 7-7 Bucs return to action in Week 16 in a Christmas Eve showdown against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
