The Los Angeles Rams will reportedly be without quarterback Stetson Bennett for at least four games after a decision was made by head coach Sean McVay’s staff. Bennett missed the Rams Week 1 matchup against the Seattle Seahawks while he battles a shoulder injury.
Bennet, the Rams’ fourth-round pick in this year’s draft, is currently listed as the Rams’ QB2 on the depth chart behind Matthew Stafford. But the Rams won’t be able to see him in a game uniform until at least Oct. 15th against the Arizona Cardinals.

According to Cameron DaSilva with The Rams Wire on USA Today, McVay said the roster move was unrelated to the shoulder injury that kept Bennett out of Week 1. But McVay declined to get into the specifics of why the rookie was placed on the NFI list:
McVay did specify that this is unrelated to Bennett’s shoulder injury.
“No, and that’s all I’m going to say and I really hope that you can please respect my wishes in regards to keeping that in-house,” McVay said. “I understand you have a job to do, but there’s certain things that I think are a little bit bigger and more important and out of respect for the particulars and specifics, want to be able to keep it in-house and that’s where I’d like to leave it, please.”
The Rams will only have one active quarterback, Stafford, on their 53-man roster until the team signs or call up another signal caller. Brett Rypien is the quarterback listed on the Rams practice squad.
