Sunday afternoon the Seahawks vs Falcons game will be a tough one to watch. Although Seattle has the better record, the Falcons have looked much better early on the season. After beating Russell Wilson in his return to Seattle, the Seahawks’ offense didn’t score a single point against San Francisco. That leaves them at 29th in the league in scoring whereas the falcons are top ten in that department. Although the Falcons are 0-2, they’ve looked much better than that record shows. Yes they collapsed in their season opener against the Saints and blew a good chance at a win last week in LA, but… they can still score the ball well. And that’s something I think Geno and the Seahawks will continue to struggle with.
Can Seattle Score Enough to Win
Seattle’s offense, led by veteran QB Geno Smith has looked… how do I say it? BAD. Their only averaging 12 points per game with seven of that 24 total coming from the defense. Geno certainly hasn’t been what he was in college, but he’s shown that he can do what needs to be done for the win, as he did in week one. That being said, he’s not gonna light it up through the air. He needs the run game to really get going this game. Seattle is last in the league in rushing yards per game at only 56 a contest. Rashaad Penny is way too talented to be averaging less than 40 yards per game. If Seattle wants to win, Penny has really got to step up and have a big game.
Winless Falcons Blunders
With the Falcons having good offensive numbers, there’s still a reason they’re 0-2 to start the season. It seems like they might actually be cursed. They blew a big 4th quarter lead to the Saints and failed to finish off a 28-3 comeback last week against the Rams. I don’t know how exactly they’ll do it, but look for Atlanta to make a typical Atlanta mistake late in the game that could quite possibly cost them the win.
