The Seattle Seahawks were 3-0 to start the 2024 season. Geno Smith looked good in those games and then things have been different for Seattle over the last three weeks.
On Thursday night football, the Seahawks lost to the San Francisco 49ers 36-24. At one point in the game, Seattle trailed 23-3 and it once got to 23-17, but the 49ers responded positively to avoid another loss within the division this season.
Seattle Seahawks Geno Smith Stats
In this game, Geno Smith completed 30-of-52 passes for 312 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions. He had one rush for zero yards and zero touchdowns. Smith made some poor decisions with the football. Seattle only ran the football 20 times in this game.
The Seahawks may need to run the football more often and have Smith throw less. However, the defense has not played well over the last few weeks.

Biggest takeaway? The season is over let’s put in Howell and see what we have, maybe he’s good probably not but if we do that we can see if we need a QB in the draft

Takeaways: Geno mid, o line ass, defense is like a peewee squad who can’t force turnovers, sacks, pressures. Bye bye John Schneider

Geno needs to sort his decision making, them ints were barely forced and just bad throws. Defence needs to put it on their shoulders to do better

That pick Geno threw in the 4th was crucial. Like run the damn ball! We had 9 mins left on the clock. Take your time going down field.

There is no chance that head coach Mike Macdonald would bench Geno Smith for Sam Howell. Howell is the backup quarterback for Seattle after they acquired him a trade this offseason from the Washington Commanders. They lost Drew Lock in free agency to the New York Giants. Smith is not the problem with Seattle, the defense is.
