The Seattle Seahawks have made multiple moves this offseason to help their cap numbers. After the increased cap number for the impending season, the Seahawks have $42 million in cap space.
The Seahawks recently restructured veteran receiver Tyler Lockett to create more cap space.
According to the Seattle Times, “With the NFL free agent signing period growing ever closer, the Seahawks made a pair of moves Saturday to create more cap space, including restructuring the contract of veteran receiver Tyler Lockett, which assures that the team’s most-tenured player will return for a 10th season in 2024.”
His new deal, as first reported by the NFL Network, is now two years for $30 million with a max value of $34 million — which includes $4 million that was turned into potential incentives— with almost $13 million guaranteed in 2024.
With a new coaching staff taking over in Seattle, they could be gearing up for a few free agents that fit with the new system, or it could be clearing house from the old regime. Either way, Seattle is gearing up for 2024.
