ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith reported that alleged racism was the reason Colorado Buffaloes head coach Deion Sanders decided not to answer questions from CBS reporters earlier this month. Social media reactions to the report are mixed.
Sanders told a local CBS reporter that he didn’t have a problem with the reporter personally but that he wouldn’t answer any questions from the CBS network. Sanders said CBS knows what they did to upset him and that what they did was foul.
Colorado Buffaloes HC Deion Sanders stood up for justice?
It was unclear to the general public what Sanders meant when he said that CBS did something foul. As previously discussed on GH, Smith reported that CBS took a black reporter off of a certain story and gave it to a white reporter:
“A reporter, who happened to be a brother, had a story that they were working on, and the story was about to come out, and when the information was accumulated, the brother was taken off the story, according to people close to Deion Sanders,” Smith said.
“And in return, it was given to somebody who was White. ‘Prime Time’ Deion Sanders had a problem with that. He may not tell you. Most other folks may not know; I’m telling you. According to folks close to Deion Sanders, that’s what happened. That’s precisely what happened.”
Reactions to CBS’s alleged racism
People immediately reacted to Smith’s report on social media. Some agreed with what Sanders did, while others were skeptical of the report. Regardless, most feel Sanders should have been professional and answered the journalist’s questions.

That’s a serious accusation!
Sure hope he has proof to back it up.— Jason – Bison Brewski F (@BisonBrewski) August 17, 2024

So what? Deion is free to make his own decisions.

Ok? So what? Answer the questions. Your answers won’t change regardless of the reporter
