The San Francisco 49ers are no stranger to injuries. Fans of the team would love it if they could have one year without feeling the bite of the injury bug. The team got some bad news on speedy wide receiver Ray-Ray McCloud. He will be out for at least eight weeks with a broken wrist.
San Francisco 49ers Ray-Ray McCloud Breaks Wrist
McCloud is entering his second year on the team and he is the fourth wide receiver on the depth chart. Last year, his highlight plays included a 71-yard touchdown run. His speed is unmatched and in Kyle Shanahan’s offense, speed can be deadly. This hurts the much-needed depth that the 49ers had. While the McCloud injury doesn’t drastically change the outcome of the 2023 season, he isn’t a zero on offense. Also, if a player like Deebo Samuel goes down, it is nice to have McCloud on the bench to back him up.
Not The Only Injury
McCloud isn’t the only one that’s dealing with an injury. George Kittle has an adductor strain which is something no 49ers fan wants to hear. Kittle is one of the best tight ends in the league but he has struggled to stay on the field in the past couple of seasons. Quarterback Brock Purdy seems to be recovering from his elbow injury well but it is still something to monitor. This is the point of the season where every NFL fan holds their breath that injuries don’t happen before the season.
The San Francisco 49ers will be without their speedy wide receiver for the first part of the season. Hopefully, Ray-Ray McCloud will be able to recover and help the team in the playoff push.
