San Francisco 49ers Wide Receiver Brandon Aiyuk May Have Just Identified the Next Team He Wants to Play for in 2024

The San Francisco 49ers and All-Pro wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk have been locked in tense contract negotiations ever since their offseason began. Of course, it began the moment the lost the Super Bowl to the Kansas City Chiefs. Shortly after that loss, Aiyuk’s girlfriend made the following statement in a video that the couple posted online: “It might be the last time we step foot at Levi’s cause we might not be here next season.”

The Super Bowl was played in February 11. Aiyuk’s girlfriend posted that video on February 12, the next day.

At the time, very few could have guessed at how ugly the process of negotiating an extension would be between the 49ers and Aiyuk.

In the month and a half in between the Super Bowl and the 2024 NFL Draft, talks between Aiyuk and the 49ers had stalled to the point that many thought he would be traded prior to the first round. However, general manager John Lynch told reporters that he and the 49ers were confident that they would be able to move forward with Aiyuk.

That has not happened as of yet. The star wide receiver skipped all offseason team activities, including mandatory minicamp, as the two sides continued negotiating.

According to reports, Aiyuk wants $30 million per year while San Francisco has offered as much as $26 million.

Recently, Aiyuk told his former college teammate, and current Washington Commanders quarterback, Jayden Daniels that the 49ers told him that they do not want him anymore. He also stated in a recent interview that he could see himself playing for the Pittsburgh Steelers or Commanders this upcoming season.

A new social media post, however, has possibly revealed what his preference is.

Does San Francisco 49ers Wide Receiver Brandon Aiyuk Want to Play for the Washington Commanders?

Due to the impasse at which Aiyuk and San Francisco continue to be stuck, trade rumors involving the Second Team All-Pro are beginning to pick up steam again. This is especially true after Aiyuk posted the following video on his social media:

WOW… #49ers WR Brandon Aiyuk just posted this picture of #Commanders practice film on TikTok

As seen in the video above, Aiyuk posted a video of himself watching film from the Commanders’ mandatory minicamp.

With his connection to Daniels from college and his recent statements about how well he thinks he would play in their system, it is easy to draw the conclusion that Washington is where he would like to play if he does not get the contract offer he wants from San Francisco.
