The San Francisco 49ers and Kansas City Chiefs are in a tight Super Bowl LVIII battle. At the time of writing, the 49ers lead the Chiefs 10-6. However, one of the biggest events of the game just happened. Read below to find out more about it.
Deebo Samuel Goes Down
With 9:10 remaining in the third quarter, 49ers WR Deebo Samuel collapsed on the field. San Francisco’s staff attended to him, and Samuel eventually went into the medical tent.
Samuel was questionable with a left hamstring injury according to Evan Washburn of CBS. Samuel dealt with a fractured shoulder injury earlier this season. However, he was able to return to the game during the next drive.
San Francisco 49ers Moving Forward
Now, the 49ers risk losing one of their best weapons for the remainder of the game. When Samuel went down, he had just two catches for 24 yards during Super Bowl LVIII. Brock Purdy and the 49ers may look for somebody else to step up.
The good news is that San Francisco is getting a great performance from their defense thus far. They had a forced fumble and allowed just three points in the first half. Now, with Samuel not being 100%, San Francisco may have to lean on their defense even more.
