Derrick Henry appeared to say goodbye to the Tennessee Titans after the last game of the season, clearly saying that he is going to look for another team in free agency. He shared his love of the team and the fans after the final game of the season, and now he wants to go try and win a Super Bowl.
Henry went on a podcast to talk about his future and he made something very clear when saying:
“I ain’t done playing. I ain’t even close to done playing, I want to win a Super Bowl.”
The 30 year old running back knows that he still has a lot left in the tank and that he wants to go to a Super Bowl contending team to end his career. There have now been two sources that have linked the the star running back to none other than the Dallas Cowboys.
The Dallas Cowboys are coming off one of their most embarrassing playoff losses in recent memory and it is clear that owner Jerry Jones is going to make a lot of moves this off season so they wont replicate this ever again. The Cowboys may be looking for a new coach but they will alos be looking to add talent, and Henry could bring a whole new dynamic to the already successful Dallas offense.
Tennessee Titans’ Derrick Henry Is Linked To The Dallas Cowboys
The Dallas Cowboys showed interest at the trade deadline in Henry but were not able to make a trade happen. Now they can grab the running back as a free agent this off season and it appears that there is mutual interest from both sides in getting a deal done.
The Cowboys lost to the Green Bay Packers 48-32 in the Wild Card weekend, and it seems like everything is blowing up there as they started their off season weeks before they planned to. The organization and Jerry Jones is still dealing with the heart break of the season ending the way it did, but as soon as they start making off season moves, Henry will be at the top of the list.
While Dallas has a solid back in Tony Pollard, adding Henry would only help in Pollard’s success as well. It was clear from this year that Pollard is not able to carry that load of being the one back in the Dallas offense. While Henry has clearly had some decline in the past two seasons, it would be an incredible two running back of him and Pollard.
Dak Prescott had his best year with the Cowboys, but having Henry in the lineup would help him as well to be even better. In the playoffs, running the ball is crucial in dominating the pace of the game. Henry would be a huge help to Dallas and it seems that the both want to get the deal done.
There will obviously be more than one team that will be interested in the star running back, but as of now it appears that Dallas is the number one landing spot for Henry as he will try to help a Super Bowl contender. We will see soon enough if this deal gets done.
