The Miami Dolphins have a new quarterback contract
The Miami Dolphins were rumored to be in the market for a quarterback this offseason. Tom Brady, who recently retired as a member of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, was one choice that has generated a lot of buzz lately. The Dolphins appear to have made a choice on their quarterback for the future with a new contract.
According to Mike Garafolo with the NFL Network, the Dolphins informed Tua Tagovailoa the team will pick up his fifth-year option for the 2024 season. Tua will have $23.2 million guaranteed on the books next season. The option pick-up is considered a sign the Dolphins intend to keep Tua as their franchise quarterback.

Tua struggled in his first two seasons in Miami. However, after the team hired head coach Mike McDaniel and brought in wide receiver Tyreek Hill last offseason, Tua showed much progress in his third season. However, Tua suffered brain injuries last season, and his season was cut short. He did not play in the Dolphins’ Wild Card loss against the Buffalo Bills.
