Davante Adams’ Frustration
In the win against New England, Adams had just two catches the entire game, and acknowledged afterward that his frustration is growing due to his role on the team diminishing, even though the Raiders have won their last two games. He has been one of the best receivers in the league since he joined in 2014. The star receiver did not hold anything back when expressing himself, and this is what he told reporters:
“I’m a human being and I have extremely high standards for myself in this offense. I’m sure people are thinking, ‘They won the game, why is there an issue?’ I mean, you see why it’s an issue. Y’all should know who I am, know what I’m about at this point… when you’re a player like me, mentally, my benchmark is not wins and losses – – it’s greatness. So when I go out there, I expect to be able to have that ability to put that on tape and have influence on the game.”
Descending Career?
The star receiver has not had a touchdown since the Raiders’ week three loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. In that game, he had 13 catches for 172 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns. It makes you wonder if Las Vegas thinks the answer to winning is letting opposing defenses focus on him the entire time while having success in other areas offensively.
So far this season, Adams has amounted to just 471 receiving yards and three touchdowns. His production has dropped massively since he joined the team in 2022 after being with the Green Bay Packers his entire career. The troubles with Adams and the Raiders continue to be an issue, and you have to start wondering when the receiver will have enough.
