The NFL MVP award is given to the best player in the league every season. Since 2012, only quarterbacks have won this prestigious award, with the only non-quarterback being Minnesota Vikings’ former running back Adrian Peterson. Even though it is only week three of the 2023 season, there is still a favorite so far to win the award this year. Yes, it is another quarterback, and no, it’s not who you think.

Tua’s MVP Case
That’s right, Tua Tagovailoa is the MVP front runner as of today in the NFL. Tua has been on a tear so far this season, brining his team the Miami Dolphins to a 2-0 record so far. He has amounted to 715 passing yards and four touchdowns in inly two games! He has definitely shown that he can be great when he is healthy, and will look to continue to prove the doubters wrong.
Weapons
With weapons all around for the star quarterback like Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle, Tua and the Miami offense will certainly be difficult for opposing defenses to stop this season. Hill already has 255 receiving yards and three touchdowns, putting him at the top of the total receiving leaders, while Waddle has produced 164 receiving yards. With these speedsters in the lineup, Miami will be looking to thrown the ball deep very often.
Health
It will be interesting to see if Tua can stay healthy for the entire 2023 season after going out last year with a plethora of injuries. When he is healthy, he has been one of the best in the game, bringing Miami to a 3-0 record with wins over the Bengals, Bills, and Patriots before he was injured in week four. If he can remain healthy, it should be fun to watch this Dolphins’ offense torch the opposition this year.
