The Pittsburgh Steelers have a new-look quarterback room as the 2024 free agency nears its end. They now have Russell Wilson and Justin Fields after their respective teams looked for ways to get rid of these players.
While some Steelers fans may still be on the fence about whether either of these two men will be able to take the Steelers deeper into the playoffs, Wilson has already extended an olive branch to his new teammate.
Russell Wilson is excited to share QB room with Justin Fields
Russell Wilson took to social media to speak his mind about the move the Steelers made to acquire Fields from the Chicago Bears.
While some would have understood if DangeRuss was a bit reserved with his reaction, his message is sending a clear thought to Steelers fans and the rest of the NFL.
Let’s get it @justnfields!

The fact that he’s eager to work with the 25-year-old QB is a sign that he’s eager to show him the ropes and maybe share a couple of tricks on what it takes to become a starting-caliber QB in the National Football League.
While the season is still far away, at least Steelers fans can rest easy with the knowledge that both players are locked in to lead the team into a meaningful 2024 season.
Will the Pittsburgh Steelers succeed with Wilson and Fields?
It’s clear to everyone that Russell Wilson and Justin Fields are better quarterbacks than the QB room they had in 2023. But the question now lies in whether the Steelers can make the Super Bowl when both of these men showed issues with their play last year.
Wilson had a respectable season at 3070 passing yards, 26 TDs, and eight INTs on 66.4% pass completion and a 98.0 QB rating. However, he didn’t fit into what Sean Payton wanted out of his Denver Broncos.
Meanwhile, Fields had another up-and-down season as the Bears struggled to find their footing throughout 2023. While he showed flashes of brilliance, his 2562 passing yards, 16 TDs, and nine picks on 61.4% pass completion and an 86.3 QB rating weren’t enough to keep his spot at Solider Field.
While it’s clear that Wilson will start the season as QB1, the NFL season is long. It may only be a matter of time before Fields finds an opportunity to take the starting job for himself.
