Jaylen Warren isn’t going anywhere else – at least for now – as the running back just signed his one-year restricted free agent tender with the Pittsburgh Steelers, as announced by the team on Tuesday, including through their official Instagram account.
“RB Jaylen Warren has signed a one-year restricted free agent tender,” the post read.
Earlier in this offseason, the Steelers assigned a one-year tender to Warren, worth $5.346 million. With Warren signing that restricted free agent tender, the Steelers can match any contract offered to the tailback from other teams in free agency.
The Steelers’ post on this transaction garnered plenty of reactions from fans online.
“good, this draft is deep we can wait til the 3rd to get a starter caliber rb of the future”
“best 30 in sports”
“Yes my favorite he back for business”
“LET THE MAN RUN THE ROCK @jaylenwarren LETS GOOOOO”
“Outstanding!👏👏🙌💪💥our secret weapon ladies and gentlemen”
“Can we sign him little longer?? This dude is gonna be a stud especially now taking 1 reps”
Will the Pittsburgh Steelers get a running back in the 2025 NFL draft?

With Najee Harris no longer with the Steelers, the 26-year-old Warren stands to have a much bigger load in the team’s ground attack in 2025.
Signed by the Steelers as an undrafted free agent in 2022, Warren posted a career-high 511 rushing yards with a touchdown on 120 rushing attempts in the 2024 campaign.
Even with this move on Warren, the Steelers can still be expected to get a running back via the upcoming 2025 NFL draft.

RB Jaylen Warren signed a one-year RFA tender, Steelers announce.
Earlier today, Mike Tomlin voiced his confidence in Warren as RB1: “I certainly feel comfortable with his ability to do so. He got hampered by injury some in 2024. He appears to be ready to answer that.”
