The Pittsburgh Steelers’ quarterback position continues to be surrounded by all sorts of rumors in the offseason. The Steelers only have one quarterback with a contract for the 2024 NFL season, and that’s Kenny Pickett, who’s already gotten the support from the team as Pittsburgh’s QB1. But that hasn’t stopped people from wondering what is OUT there for the Steelers.
Justin Fields Rumors Continue To Follow The Pittsburgh Steelers
Chicago Bears quarterback Justin Fields has long been linked to the Steelers, but Pittsburgh hasn’t significantly moved the needle on that front (at least that’s what it seems from the outside).
On Thursday, Pittsburgh Steelers general manager Omar Khan was cornered by reporters at the NFL Combine in Indianapolis, including Mark Kaboly of The Athletic, who asked the team executive what the real score was so far between Fields and the Steelers.
“I’m not going to go into details about the conversations that we’ve had, but like I mentioned earlier, I can tell you that I’ve got an obligation to look at every avenue that’s out there to try to make us a better football team,” Khan responded.
Khan’s answer didn’t provide much for reporters and fans to chew on. That’s the same case with his answer when Kaboly asked him about Russell Wilson and Kirk Cousins.
“I’m not going to get into any detailed conversations,” simply said.

The picture concerning the Steelers’ supposed pursuit of another quarterback will get clearer soon. With the 2024 NFL Draft inching closer and closer, the Pittsburgh Steelers could provide more clarity in the coming days or weeks about their mission to shore up the QB room.
