The Pittsburgh Steelers recently released center Mason Cole on February 23rd. Mason Cole was the team’s starting center for the 2022 and 2023 NFL season. He started a total of 34 regular season games, 17 each season during that time. Cole was a former Draft Pick of the Arizona Cardinals in the 3rd Round (97th Pick) of the 2018 NFL Draft.
Mason Cole signed a 3 year, $15,750,000 contract with the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2022, with an average annual salary of $5,250,000.
Cole’s release saved the Pittsburgh Steelers almost 5 Million Dollars in cap space.

Mitch Morse was a 2nd Round (49th Pick) selection in the 2015 NFL Draft by the Kansas City Chiefs. He was a Pro Football Writers of America (PWFA) NFL All-Rookie Team selection at center. He started 49 games as Chief before in 2019, Mitch Morse signed a four-year $44.5 million contract with the Buffalo Bills, making him the highest-paid center in the league at the time. On March 14, 2022, Morse signed a two-year, $19.5 million contract extension with the Bills. On March 6, 2024, Morse was released after five seasons.
Mitch Morse is 31 years old, he started all 17 games for the Buffalo Bills in the 2023 season, Morse was a 2022 Pro Bowl selection in the AFC at Center for Buffalo.
With Cole’s release, and now a hole at Center for Pittsburgh, signing Morse would be a perfect fit for the Steelers, with his experience to help Kenny Pickett or whoever starts at QB this upcoming season for Pittsburgh!
