The Philadelphia Eagles made one of the biggest acquisitions of the offseason. They signed RB Saquon Barkley away from the New York Giants. It has led to Giants fans feeling hurt and betrayed. Now, Barkley addresses them in a goodbye post on social media. Read below to find out what he said to these hurt Giants fans.
Saquon Barkley Says Goodbye to New York Giants
Barkley had a tumultuous relationship with the New York Giants. Still, this did not stop him from arguably being the face of the franchise and having thousands of Giants fans wear his jersey to games. As a result, Barkley said one last goodbye to the Giants organization and their fans before departing to Philadelphia. Here is what he had to say:
“The last three days have been a whirlwind of emotions, but I wanted to take a minute to acknowledge all the Giants fans that have supported me and my family over the last six years. When I was drafted here I wanted my impact off the field to rival the accomplishments we had on it, and I can only hope I came close to doing that. I’m forever grateful to the Mara and Tisch family and the wonderful people working in the Giants organization. The fans in New York and New Jersey will forever hold a place in my heart. Ultimately, the NFL is a business, and I hope that everyone can respect my decision.”
-Saquon Barkley
Philadelphia Eagles Moving Forward
After awarding Barkley a lucrative contract, the Eagles hope to maximize what Barkley has to offer. Considering the Philadelphia Eagles have a much better offensive line to offer Barkley along with a quarterback who can run in Jalen Hurts, they should be in good shape.
