The NFL released a statement following their decision on an investment surrounding the Philadelphia Eagles signing of former New York Giants star running back Saquon Barkley. Per multiple reports, the NFL found the Eagles did not violate the league’s anti-tampering policy. While the NFL let the Eagles off the hook, the Atlanta Falcons weren’t so lucky with the NFL’s investigation into the signing of Kirk Cousins.

As previously discussed on GH, the NFL was investigating if the Eagles broke rules after Penn State head coach James Franklin’s comments:
Per multiple reports, the NFL is set to investigate whether the Atlanta Falcons and Philadelphia Eagles broke any rules early this offseason in trying to prematurely recruit players before the start of the free agency negotiation period on Monday. They could face a steep punishment…
Penn State head coach James Franklin appeared to tip off the league that Eagles general manager Howie Roseman contacted Saquon Barkley before Monday to use Penn State as a part of Philadelphia’s sales pitch to the former Nittany Lions star.

According to Ian Rapoport with the NFL Network, the league released a statement of their findings on the Eagles signing of Barkley. The league did not find sufficiently evidence that the Eagles broke any rules:
“After a thorough review of the Philadelphia Eagles signing of Saquon Barkley, the NFL today informed the club that the investigation did not discover sufficient evidence to support a finding that the Anti-Tampering Policy was violated.
In coming to this conclusion, the league reviewed phone logs, text messages and other documents related to Philadelphia’s free agency strategy and decision to sign Barkley. The NFL also interviewed several members of the organization, including Howie Roseman and Nick Sirianni, as well as Barkley and Penn State head coach James Franklin. As with every review, should new evidence be uncovered, the league may reopen the investigation.”
The Eagles are off the hook for now, but the league could reopen the investigation at any time.
