The extension is a massive relief to Eagles fans as they just lost their long-time staple, future hall of famer Jason Kelce.
Landon Dickerson’s four-year extension is worth $84M base and $87M max value, a source said. He gets a $50M total guaranteed and a $20M signing bonus. At $21M per year, he is the highest-paid guard in NFL history.
Philadelphia Eagles Offensive Line
The Eagles have had one of the best offensive lines in football for the past decade-plus. Center Jason Kelce was a mainstay on that offensive line for many years. Now that he has retired, continuity is a goal for Philadelphia Eagles executives.
Jordan Mailata and Lane Johnson anchor the Eagles’ tackle position. With the Eagles needing a replacement for Jason Kelce, keeping their long-time guard was a key move this offseason.
This past season, PFF had the Eagles offensive line as the number-one ranked unit in the NFL:
“While the Eagles’ offensive line, mainly due to injuries, could not keep up its 2022 form for all 18 weeks of the 2023 regular season, the unit at full strength and playing to its potential was still the best in the NFL. Mailata (85.9), Kelce (84.8), and Johnson (82.9) were each among the five highest-graded players at their positions this season.”
Landon Dickerson Career
The Philadelphia Eagles selected Dickerson in the second round, with the 37th overall pick, of the 2021 NFL Draft. On July 26, 2021, Dickerson signed his four-year rookie contract with the Eagles.
In 2022, Landon Dickerson, along with Kelce and Johnson, was voted into his first Pro Bowl. This past season, he allowed an average pressure time of 3.86 seconds, a career-high and the longest in the NFL from the left guard position.
