Jason Kelce is a beloved figure among Philadelphia Eagles fans. The long-time center has not only embodied what it meant to be an Eagle who represents the City of Brotherly Love, but his charming personality off the field has turned him into one of the most well-liked people in the NFL.
While the elder of the Kelce brothers doesn’t have to do much to be respected by his community, he continues to show up for Philly whenever he can. However, his latest act of philanthropy will not only win him more brownie points but also make people chuckle over how relatable he is.
Philadelphia Eagles’ Jason Kelce unleashed a witty quip after joining marathon for autism awareness
The long-time Philadelphia Eagles center was spotted joining the Mike’s Seafood Polar Bear Run-Walk. He didn’t act like he was a VIP and joined the rest of the runners in helping to raise awareness for autism.
It was clear that he enjoyed the event, as The Spun’s Andrew Gould wrote about a wholesome interaction Kelce had with the fans after the event:
A video made the rounds of Kelce gingerly jogging across the finish line. Kelce challenged a caption claiming he “ran a 5K.”
“‘Ran’ is a generous verb for what occurred,” Kelce wrote. “But we had a blast.”
It was a funny jab at the 36-year-old made to add laughter to people’s day. It was clear in the video and the pictures of the event that he had quite a difficult time finishing the race.
However, die-hard Eagles fans would be the first to tell you that Jason Kelce is anything but unathletic. The seven-time Pro Bowler and six-time First-Team All-Pro is one of the fastest offensive linemen in the NFL, and it’s his unique mix of elite skill and physical gifts that made him a future first-ballot Hall of Famer.
While the issue of Kelce possibly retiring is still up in the air, it’s clear to everyone that he’s just having fun doing whatever he wants to do. However, Eagles fans might be hoping that he’ll stay for one more run for the Super Bowl.
