There is no question that Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts can be an elite playmaker at the NFL level. In 2022, the former Alabama Crimson Tide and Oklahoma Sooners star threw for 3,701 yards and 22 touchdowns against six picks while leading Philly to the Super Bowl. The 25-year-old ran for an additional 760 yards and 13 scores while earning second-team All-Pro honors.
However, his recent play has been abysmal, with the Eagles losing three straight and Hurts throwing just one touchdown against two picks during that span. Like most quarterbacks, Hurts and the fans have put the blame squarely on his shoulders. Philadelphia Eagles fans have taken to Twitter (also known as X) to vent their frustrations with their signal-caller, with last night’s loss against the Seattle Seahawks still fresh in their memories. Most Eagles fans remain flabbergasted with Hurts’ late-game decision-making, consistently forcing the ball deep instead of hitting the open check down.

Philadelphia Eagles: Amid Three-Game Slide
The Eagles have lost three straight games, losing their top spot in the NFC East and a realistic chance at earning the No. 1 seed in the conference. The Eagles entered Monday Night Football a week removed from a 33-13 shellacking at the hands of rival Dallas, and before that, they were 42-19 losers against the San Francisco 49ers. However, last night’s loss marked a new low for the Eagles in 2023, scoring just 17 points against a lowly-ranked Seattle defense. Hurts finished the night 17 of 31 for 143 yards and no scores against two picks. He added 13 carries for 82 yards and two scores.
Hurts entered the weekend as a game-time decision while dealing with an illness but drew the start over backup Marcus Mariota. The dual-threat gunslinger owns a forgettable 72.4 quarterback rating during his team’s three-game losing streak.
