The Philadelphia Eagles are hoping to fix their linebacker tandem, a weakness on defense last season, with Nicholas Morrow and Zach Cunningham playing most of the snaps. They even tried their luck signing Shaquille Leonard in December but to no avail.
The Eagles overhauled the position by letting four of their top five linebackers walk in free agency. Morrow signed with the Bills, Cunningham remains unsigned, Christian Elliss signed with the Patriots, and Leonard remains unsigned. Nakobe Dean is the only one in this group still on their roster.
The Eagles replaced them by drafting Jeremiah Trotter Jr. in the 5th round, signing Zack Baun and a Pro Bowler.

The Eagles signed Devin White to a 1-year contract worth $4 million with an additional $3.5 million in incentives.
White had a great start to his NFL career, but things went south in 2023. There were reports that he wanted a massive contract extension the Buccaneers weren’t willing to give and demanded a trade before the season started, but he never got traded.
He battled a lingering foot injury that caused him to miss three games, and his production also dipped. He had career lows in tackles and struggled in pass coverage. Finally, his snap counts dipped in the playoffs due to the emergence of K.J. Britt.
He hopes to revive his career and wants to be a starter again.

White is on track to win the starting job, receiving first-team reps during OTAs and mandatory minicamp. His starting spot appears to be a lock for now. However, the other starting spot is up for grabs.

Zack Baun is currently in the lead, receiving first-team reps as well.
Baun is on his second team and his fifth year in the league. He started his career with the Saints but never found a role on defense. He started in 14 total games and failed to log over 30% of snaps in each of his first four seasons.
