Patrick Mahomes celebrates Super Bowl victory
Patrick Mahomes has a lot to celebrate this week. He seemed pumped about the future on Wednesday at the Super Bowl parade. The Kansas City Chiefs’ star quarterback had an incredible week. He won the NFL MVP award for the 2022 season. A few days later, Mahomes led the Chiefs to a comeback win in the Super Bowl.
Mahomes did it through injury. He had played through a high-ankle sprain since the first half of the Chiefs’ Divisional Round win against the Jacksonville Jaguars. He then aggravated the injury against the Philadelphia Eagles in the first half of the Super Bowl. Down ten points at the half, he and the Chiefs rallied to win 38-35.
Mahomes doesn’t think the Chiefs are done competing for championships. According to Pete Sweeney with Arrowhead Pride, Mahomes said at the Super Bowl parade that the Chiefs are still wanting more:
“I just want to let y’all know that this is just the beginning. We ain’t done yet,” Mahomes said.

After the way they played after Tyreek Hill left the last offseason, Patrick Mahomes is probably right. One wonders what the offense would have looked like healthy in the playoffs—scary stuff.
