Uncertainties linger around Aaron Rodgers’ career, with questions about whether he’ll continue to play or finally hang up his cleats. However, the Pittsburgh Steelers are also in the hunt for Rodgers, but minority owner Thomas Tull believes the process is way more complex than expected.
The Steelers made bold moves this season, first acquiring DK Metcalf in March in exchange for a 2025 second-round pick and two lower picks.
This Wednesday, they also traded George Pickens to the Dallas Cowboys for a 2026 third-round and a 2027 fifth-round pick.
However, Pittsburgh has been without a key quarterback after Russell Wilson‘s contract with them expired. Two weeks ago, team owner Art Rooney II hinted at the possibility of Aaron Rodgers joining the team.
“We’re still kind of getting the same signals that we’ve been getting recently. He does want to come here so I do think we may get word soon,” Rooney said via ESPN’s Brooke Pryor on X/Twitter.

On Wednesday, at a CNBC broadcast about artificial intelligence, Tull brought up the situation regarding Rodgers through a hilarious take.
“I’m here to talk about AI, and that’s a more complex issue than artificial intelligence,” Tull joked.

Since Aaron Rodgers left the Green Bay Packers in 2022, his career struggled. He had losing seasons in his stint with the New York Jets, going 5-12 in the past season. Now, in free agency, the Super Bowl XLV MVP has a chance for a fresh, even winning stretch at the Steelers.
ESPN insider reveals Aaron Rodgers aware of George Pickens trade
Rumors of Aaron Rodgers being in contact with the Pittsburgh Steelers have been swirling for some time. On Wednesday, insider Brooke Pryor gave hints of Rodgers’ involvement in sending receiver George Pickens to the Dallas Cowboys in exchange for future draft picks.
In ESPN’s “Get Up,” Pryor revealed that the Steelers are providing Rodgers with key updates regarding their moves.
“The Steelers have remained in constant contact with him since these conversations began about him potentially landing in Pittsburgh.”
“Based on my conversations in the building, not only are the Steelers aware of what Rodgers has been dealing with in his personal life off the field, but I’m going to guess that that phone works two ways and the Steelers have kept him informed of potential things that they could be going through. I don’t think that this is a move that would catch Aaron Rodgers by surprise,” Pryor said.

Aaron Rodgers has played for two decades in the NFL, winning one Super Bowl and four MVPs. Now, at the twilight of his career, Rodgers’ next and possibly final chapter could see him at the Steelers, aiming to close out his storied career on a high note.
