Matt LaFleur and the Green Bay Packers are back in the NFC playoff picture and would get in with the No. 7 seed if the season ended today. It has been an amazing comeback for a team that seemed dead in the water just a month ago. Now, there is major hope for the franchise and that hope has been led by the coaching of LaFleur and the masterful play of first-year starting quarterback Jordan Love.
Since taking over as the Packers’ head coach, LaFleur has always found ways to win in the second half of the season. In his tenure in Green Bay, LaFleur has led the Packers to a 16-0 record in the month of December.
Just hearing that statistic can blow your mind. The Packers have never lost a game in December under LaFleur. Now, we’re hoping that all of the media attention to this statistic doesn’t jinx Green Bay.
Matt LaFleur’s December Record With Packers Has Made New NFL History
As shared by Aaron Nagler of Cheesehead TV, LaFleur’s record in December is the longest win streak of its kind in the history of the NFL under one specific head coach.

The winning streak continuing this season has been quite a surprise. Not many gave the Packers a chance to knock off Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday Night Football in Week 13.
Behind an elite performance from Love and great defense, LaFleur’s record still lives. The win also boosted the Packers’ playoff chances in a big way.
Looking at the rest of Green Bay’s schedule, it seems that they have a great path to the postseason. In Week 15, they will hit the road to take on the New York Giants on Monday Night Football. After that game, they will close out the season with matchups against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Lambeau Field, Carolina Panthers on the road, Minnesota Vikings on the road, and Chicago Bears at home.
Nothing is guaranteed or easy in the NFL. However, if the Packers can take care of business in their two division games against the Vikings and Bears, they should have a very good chance of winning out.
Make sure to tune in for the Packers’ Week 14 matchup with the Giants on Monday Night Football at 8:15 p.m. EST on ESPN.
