Ole Miss and head coach Lane Kiffin have been on a roll lately. After landing the third-ranked overall defender in the transfer portal yesterday, Kiffin followed it up with another high-level defender on Saturday. Former Tennessee Volunteers safety Tamarion McDonald has committed to the Rebels.

Ole Miss Lands S Tamarion McDonald From The Transfer Portal
McDonald brings a lot of experience to the Rebels. In his four years at Tennessee, he racked up 115 tackles, 12 deflections, four interceptions, and one sack. In 2023 alone, he tallied 40 tackles, four pass deflections, a sack, and an interception. This is yet another great talent that Kiffin will have to anchor his defense. As the SEC becomes more and more competitive, the Rebels are making sure that they are in the conversation for the best team in the conference.
They Might Not Be Done
If no one else committed to the Rebels, this offseason would be a success. However, Kiffin isn’t done. Top-ranked transfer portal target Walter Nolen is set to visit Ole Miss soon and if Kiffin were to land him, it would be a massive boost to the program. The momentum is there and with every new player that commits, it only makes the pitch to other players better. While everyone will talk about Alabama, Georgia, and the newcomers Texas and Oklahoma, the Rebels are going to be a tough game for anyone.
Can Lane Kiffin keep the magic going? This has been one of the best offseasons so far and hopefully, it will only get better.
