Ole Miss Rebels: Wide Receiver Depth Chart Deepest in SEC?

The Ole Miss Rebels have a chance to light up the scoreboard in 2024 in college football. Head coach Lane Kiffin has one of the most talented quarterbacks in the country with Jaxson Dart. He will have a plethora of weapons to throw the football too.

The Rebels finished with an 11-2 record a season ago in college football. They won the Peach Bowl against the Penn State Nittany Lions. This season, the Ole Miss Rebels have a great chance to crack the expanded college football playoff field because of its elite offense.

They are returning a lot of valuable starters from a season ago. The Georgia Bulldogs will no doubt be the favorites to win the SEC and possibly the national championship for the third time in four seasons, but the Rebels have a great chance to challenge them this season.

Ole Miss has a chance to have the best wide receiver room in the SEC this season. Tre Harris and Jordan Watkins will be the two top wide receivers on the roster this season. Harris last season caught 54 passes for 985 yards receiving and eight touchdowns, along with averaging 18.2 yards per catch.

He has a chance to be a first-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. Harris will be entering his senior season with the Rebels.

Jordan Watkins has looked great this spring for the Ole Miss Rebels. Last season, he caught 53 passes for 741 yards receiving and three touchdowns, along with averaging 14.0 yards per catch. Watkins is also entering his senior year and can also be a wide receiver drafted in the 2025 NFL Draft.

The Ole Miss Rebels landed transfer wide receiver Antwane Wells from the South Carolina Gamecocks. Sports Illustrated writer John Macon Gillespie said about the Rebels adding him to the offense this season by writing:

“Wells’ 2023 season was cut short due to injury, but in 2022, he hauled in 68 receptions for 928 yards and six scores for the Gamecocks. While with James Madison the season prior, he eclipsed 1,200 receiving yards and found the end zone 15 times.”

Imagine if he gets back to his 2022 self. Wells has a chance to be with an elite wide receiver group this season. Devin Price from Florida Atlantic also has a chance to get snaps with the offense this season. Price last season with the Florida Atlantic Owls only caught seven passes for 120 yards receiving and one touchdown.

He averaged 17.1 yards per reception last season. Devin Price will be entering his junior season. The Ole Miss Rebels have a lot of offensive talent at the wide receiver position that could help them this season.
