The Ole Miss Rebels might be a problem next year. Head coach Lane Kiffin has been heavily recruiting the transfer portal and getting some great talent to come to the program. Kiffin struck again when former Oklahoma defensive back Key Lawrence announced he is committing to the Rebels.

Ole Miss Lands DB Key Lawrence
In three years with the Sooners, Lawrence racked up 149 tackles, 10 TFLs, one sack, three interceptions, and 12 pass breakups. As a recruit, he was the number one player in Tennessee in the 2020 cycle. He adds an upperclassmen presence to the Rebels which is usually needed for a team to make a championship run. Kiffin might not be done in the portal. He has already landed a top linebacker and has visits scheduled with Walter Nolen and Princely Umanmielen. The Rebels could have a scary defense next year.
2024 Outlook
Ole Miss has no shortage of big games on the schedule for 2024. Road games against LSU and Florida will be tough tests. Thankfully, they get the home crowd’s help against Georgia and Oklahoma but both of those teams will be tough to defeat even at home. However, Kiffin is clearly making it a priority to land the top talent in the portal and so far he is succeeding. If he can keep this momentum up, it won’t be because of a lack of talent that the Rebels struggle next season.
Can the Rebels win the SEC in 2024? With the new conference landscape, it will be more difficult but the talent is there to make a run.
