2025 Quarterback Kevin Sperry Commits to Oklahoma
Earlier this week, the Oklahoma Sooners received a commitment from one of the most highly sought after quarterbacks in the 2025 cycle, Kevin Sperry. Sperry is from Prosper, Texas, and he plays for Rock Hill high school. Oklahoma has done a great job of recruiting the DFW area, and if Michael Hawkins decides to pick the Sooners in April, it will mark three straight classes with quarterback commits from the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex.
The highly coveted signal caller decided to commit to Oklahoma just four days after receiving the offer. It’s very rare to see someone pull the trigger on a team this early, especially when you consider his offer sheet that includes the likes of Tennessee, Florida State, and TCU. Sperry had high praise for Oklahoma offensive coordinator and quarterback coach Jeff Lebby.
He totaled 2,184 yards, as well as 16 touchdowns as a Sophomore last season with Rock Hill. Sperry played runningback for most of his football career before making the move to quarterback in 8th grade. He hasn’t looked back since, stating, “I love playing QB because you really dictate how the game will go, and there is a lot of pressure on you.” It isn’t hard to see his runningback background when you turn on the tape. He has plenty of athleticism and great vision with the ball in his hands.
When it’s all said and done, I expect Kevin Sperry to be a top 50 player overall in the 2025 class. With his mobility, he’ll be a great scheme fit for Jeff Lebby and his RPO style of offense. This is a massive addition for Oklahoma, one that will lay a great foundation for the rest of the 2025 class.
